Terms of service

These terms are the agreement between you and Mindestro for using mindestro.com, the web app, and the desktop and mobile apps. By using any of them you accept these terms. They are written to be read, not to hide things in.

The service

Mindestro is a local first notes app. The core of it runs on your device and is free to use without an account. Optional paid plans add services such as cloud sync; what each plan includes and costs is described on the pricing page, which is part of these terms for subscribers.

Your content

• Everything you write in Mindestro is yours. We claim no ownership and no license beyond what is technically needed to provide the features you use, such as storing synced notes so your other devices can fetch them.
• You can export your content as plain markdown at any time, and take it anywhere.

Accounts and paid plans

• You are responsible for your account credentials and for what happens under your account.
• Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal; your local data is untouched by any billing state.

AI features

AI in Mindestro proposes; you apply. Model output can be wrong, and you are responsible for what you accept into your notes and for how you use it. Providers you connect with your own key serve you under their own terms.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to break the law, to attack or overload the service, to probe other people's data, or to resell access that is not yours to resell.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We work to keep it reliable and your data safe, and the export path exists so you never depend on us. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before the claim.

Ending things

You can stop using Mindestro at any time; your local data and exports remain yours. We may suspend accounts that break these terms. We may change these terms; material changes will be announced, and the date at the top always says when the text last moved.
