The apps

Mindestro itself is proprietary software. Installing or using it grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to run it for your own use. Do not redistribute the apps, offer them as your own service, or work around their license or security mechanisms.

Your notes

Nothing you write in Mindestro is licensed to anyone by these pages. Your notes are yours, and the vault you export is plain markdown with no strings attached.

Built on open source

Mindestro stands on open source software, used under its own licenses and with gratitude. The main components:

  • Next.js and React (MIT license)
  • SQLite and its WebAssembly build (public domain)
  • Tiptap and ProseMirror, the editor (MIT license)
  • The Supabase client library (MIT license)
  • Transformers.js and WebLLM, the on-device AI runtimes (Apache 2.0 license)
  • Pixelarticons, the icon set (MIT license)
  • IBM Plex, the typefaces (SIL Open Font License 1.1)

On-device models download under their own licenses from their own publishers. Each license's full text ships with its package.
